Marion Coronna, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, identical twin, cousin, aunt and friend, originally from Hollis, New York, passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on August 25, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.
Marion was born on February 23, 1932 to Louise McIntosh and Frances James Mathiez (Jack). She was a graduate of Jamaica High School in New York. She married the love of her life and best friend, John James Coronna on June 15, 1957. Together they raised their five children in Northport, New York. Marion will be remembered for her captivating face and smile, her contagious laugh, and easy- going personality. She warmed the hearts of all she encountered.
Marion was blessed with exceptional culinary, decorating and horticulture skills and enjoyed throwing parties, beautifying her home, and planting beautiful gardens. She was also a talented artist who designed and created dozens of exquisite quilts, each crafted with the love and reverence she held for her family and friends. She was kind and giving, respected by the community, and cherished by her friends and family. Marion was a loyal parishioner and volunteer at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church and enjoyed her Teacher's Aid position in the Northport School District.
Marion's wish to finish planting her beautiful garden was her final accomplishment on this earth.
As Jesus embraces her into His Loving Arms, Marion will have the eternal joy of creating her own glorious garden in Heaven. When at last she gathers her most precious flowers, we shall all be together again.
