Emily was a kind friend in High School. We reconnected oh so many years later and became "adventure buddies" traveling to bead and yarn stores all over Long Island. We were often joined for dinner by her brother Bob and my husband David. We had grand conversations and always found them to be good company.
Emily was always open to learning new things. The most suprirsing thing I learned was because I saw a version of the bible, on the backseat of her car, called The Message. When I asked her about it, she said, she had never read the Bible and that this version was recommended to her. She was enjoying its readability.
Emily remained curious, a life-long learner, an adventurer to the last. She was always thinking of others. In one of her last jobs, she was bringing coloring books and crayons in for the children of her patrons at the law library in which she served. What a fine lady, what a treasured friend.
