Finnie, John - of Centerport on January 1, 2011. John received his law degree from Fordham Law School and went on to earn his Engineering degree from NYU. He taught engineering at both NYU and NYIT and was an engineer for the State of NY, retiring in 1999 after 39 years of service. He was an avid sportsman enjoying boating, fishing and golf. Beloved husband of Theresa. Loving father of Anne Marie Finnie-Maloney and David Finnie. Cherished grandfather of John Finnie-Maloney. Devoted father in-law of Edward Maloney. Dear brother of Marion Hoffman, James Finnie and Lois Finnie. Visitation will be at the Nolan & Taylor-Howe Funeral Home, 5 Laurel Ave., Northport on Tuesday from 2-5 & 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass will be at 10 AM on Wednesday at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Centerport. Interment to follow at Northport Rural Cemetery.
