I did not know Donald Smith personally, though I am proud to say that his daughter Anne was a colleague of mine at Ocean Avenue School and again as a volunteer at Hospice House. Since the acorn does not fall far from the tree, I can extrapolate what a fine man he must have been, to have a caring, competent daughter like Anne.
