I would like to second the sentiments my sister, Marianne Keleher, expressed above. Esther was a compassionate, caring woman who respected everyone. I recall her mostly through the Caspers' attendance at our Thanksgiving table for a number of years about sixty years ago. I was just a kid but Esther always listened to what I said. I remember her quick and forgiving smile. And as my sister noted, Esther was like my mother in her thoughtfulness, her compassion and her loyalty. And, like my mother, Esther had the reading habit. She seemed always to have a book in hand and saw the novels she read as a source of wisdom about people and life generally. We will miss Esther.
Mary Beth was blessed to be present at our mother’s final moments. and Esther's passing brought us closer as family members. Esther would be pleased. My sympathy goes out to Mary Beth, Steve, and Kevin. Hope all can keep in mind how fortunate we were to have Esther as long as we did and how we can benefit from her example of a forgiving, loving heart.
