Herbert L. Livingstone Jr., age 84, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2013, at Hospice House in East Northport, NY. He was recently pre-deceased by his wife, Helen, and was a devoted father to Thomas; Herbert III "Buddy" and his sons, Dylan and Ryan; Mary (Hans); Andrew (Kathy) and their son, John; and Ann (Alan) and their sons, Adam (Amy) and Daniel. Herbert served in the Army during the Korean War. He taught History and coached at Northport High School and was recognized as Teacher of the Year in 1958. He was also employed by Elmhurst Dairy. Visitation and celebration of Herb and Helen will be held at Nolan & Taylor-Howe Funeral Home on Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m., and Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. with the service immediately following. Burial/interment will follow at the Calverton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Herbert and Helen's names to the VFW or a charity of your choice.
