Alexander, David Brian of Smithtown on June 28, 2012 at 62 years of age. David was the loving Husband of Moira. Beloved son of Grace and the late David Alexander of Staten Island. Son-in-Law of Lillian McGinley. Step father of Thomas Jones and Erin Jones. Father of Alison Alexander, Erin Alexander, Kate Alexander and Molly Alexander. Brother of Jane Alexander-Schiliro and Debbie Alexander. David was the head coach of Stony Brook University Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving and very active in the Long Island Swimming Community. He was a former head coach of the North Shore Swim Club and the Cameron Club of Staten Island. David was a beloved special education teacher for over thirty years in the Smithtown School District where he make a difference in the lives of his students. In addition, was an avid bee keeper for many years and a member of the Long Island Bee Club. He was a long time member of the Northport Pipe and Drum. David will repose at the Nolan & Taylor-Howe Funeral Home, 5 Laurel Avenue, Northport. NY. Saturday 7-9PM, and Sunday 2-5 and 7-9PM. Funeral Mass Monday 11 AM St. Philip Neri Church, Northport.
