Mr. Walter S. Mystkowski, 84, of Pinehurst, died Saturday, July 11, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Nellie Mystkowski; wife, Doris Mystkowski; brother Joseph Mystkowski; sisters, Elenore Blankenberg, Irene Koch; grandson, Robert A. Blakeslee III. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS New Jersey. He returned to work at Gruman Aerospace until retirement. He was an avid carver and golfer and just enjoyed his time outside and with family. He is survived by his children, Michael W. Mystkowski of Tennessee, Gayle Blakeslee of Sanford, NC; sister, Annella Low of Texas; grandchildren, Jeffrey Blakeslee, Jasmine Blakeslee and Mariya Forestiere of Sanford, NC and Danielle Mystkowski, Jessica Mystkowski of Florida and 8 great-grandchildren. Memorial visitation will be at the Nolan & Taylor-Howe Funeral Home, 5 Laurel Ave., Northport, NY on Thursday July 16, 2015 from 7-9 PM. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in New York.
