To my cousins Karen, Nancy and Mark,
I’m very sorry for your loss, and I hope you can find comfort in how many years you had your dad. Not everyone gets that.
Your uncle Joe, my father passed in January 2023, and I miss him every day still.
Love, your cousin Joe

One of our traditions with Grandpa was to go down to the village of Northport together. We miss having you with us Grandpa and we dedicate this visit to you!

I am so very sorry that when I was speaking about my dad at his service, that I failed to include a very special relationship that my dad had. I spoke about the four wonderful grandchildren, but I failed to mention, their father, Eric Chang. When I came home with Eric and the two most beautiful girls on the planet (Eric's daughters, Shanti and Pria), my dad became absolute mush! When my dad first met Eric, there was an instant bond. The two men joked together and also had very serious conversations. Eric looked up to Mario, and Mario took Eric as a son! It was wonderful to watch the two of them share celebrations and take the boys out for golf outings and other adventures. I know that my dad felt so sad when Eric and I split and I think he felt a little melancholy because he would not get to see Eric as often. However, the two men kept in touch by phone and an occasional golf game. They loved each other very much! I needed to share that with all of you who loved my dad to let you know that in addition to everything else, he was an amazing father, mentor, and friend to his son-in-law. I am grateful that both men had each other in their lives!

If every veteran you have helped lit a candle we would run out of candles! Until we meet again!

one more thing about mario. he never did anything for personal gain but for the the good of all and especially our fallen veterans like my dad who was a world war 2 veteran and raised funds for use to help veterans in need! hopefully, every dollar raised by mario was put to good use helping the va to better serve our veterans!!

over the past 10 years i've had the pleasure of knowing mario through being a companion of his daughter karen. we became very close and would enjoy telling each other our most inner life experiences. we helped each other like family and considered him my dad sicne i lost my own father in 1993. we would do anything for eachother without words. we always knew what the other was thinking. i enjoyed our many bountiful lunches and dinners together. i will always love and miss you mario till my dying day. good by my friend!!
