Baron, Benedict, "Ben", on October 14, 2015, 97 years young, of Northport. Beloved husband of Carmen. Loving father of Elli Rathbun and step-father of Norman Baron, Steven Pane and Christopher pane. Adored grandfather of Dillon, Dakota, Luke, Alex, Sam, Sarah and Thomas. Fond great-grandfather of Katalina Ann, Kodi Grace, Rorie Zion and Trenton Graham. Cherished son of the late Anna and Leon Baron of Brooklyn. While in College, worked as a song writer at CBS, and was a member of ASCAP. Graduated from NYU in New York City, and received his masters from SUNY New Paltz. Served as a tail gunner on a B-17 until color blindness was discovered, and he was switched to special service where he wrote and produced radio and live shows. After the war, he worked for Upjohn in South Africa. In 1957, he began his career as an elementary school teacher. During this time, he continued to build Goodwinol, a business that today his daughter Elli Rathbun is running. He retired and taught teachers to teach at Dowling College. He volunteered for Hospice and sold Ads for Goodwinol until 2011.
