Debra E. Augustyn passed away on Wednesday, January 27th at the age of 60. She leaves behind her husband of almost 42 years, Terence Augustyn, daughter Elizabeth Augustyn (Ken Abhold), daughter Arielle Augustyn (Alex Feldman), and sister Sandy Minne (John Minne). She was preceded in death by her parents. Debbie was born in Berwyn, IL and attended Proviso West High School. After moving with her family to central Wisconsin she became a licensed paralegal. She worked in bankruptcy and divorce for several years and was made the vice president for the Wisconsin League of Women Voters, where she helped author several pioneering legislative policies. Debbie was also a certified master gardener and enjoyed tending to her vegetables and beautiful flowers. She and her husband relocated to Northport, NY in July of 2002 where she fell in love with gardening along the water. A visitation will take place on Monday, February 1st from 6pm to 8pm at Nolan & Taylor-Howe funeral home (5 Laurel Ave. Northport, NY 11768). The family will hold a memorial service in Chicago in the coming months (details pending).
