I have been an attorney for the LIRR for the past seven years. I met Ed on a case. Although a young man, and contemporary of mine, he was an old soul, a member of the old guard. There are so few left who can speak plainly, and sift through the ever-building mountain of nonsense to the core of the matter as he could. A simple man in an intentionally complicated profession. I liked him immediately; his zeal and determination. He was direct yet not condescending, intelligent yet not arrogant and just plain funny. I am very, very sorry for your loss. I cannot help but feel it is our loss as well. My deepest condolences.

Eddie, my sister Alison and I were dear friends in high school and shared countless memories of marching band, laughter, arguments (Eddie was a great debater! -:) and growing up.
