I was so very sorry to learn of Letty's death. I retired from Social Security about 5 years ago. Although i never got to work directly with Letty, we spent many evenings walking to the LIRR together. Letty was a truly lovely person. I am so sorry that she is gone......but she will never be forgotten.

Letty provided an idyllic oasis for us when she purchased her Northport beach cottage. She bought it in her late sixties. Brave. A solo endeavor. Was her dream to have such a place. And what a cozy artsy setting it was. We called it the Spa in the Woods. My dog Liam enjoyed it as well. Letty was happy to have him chase rabbits. We delayed our get-together this year do to my colon surgery. Letty provided email support throughout. I have been rereading them. Through our exchanges we reached a deeper level of understanding as we navigated this new world of illness. Her support and honest words were comforting and accelerated my recovery. I have the video of her cracking fireplace from our last winter lunch. Will be a lasting memory. And the last. We had begun sharing a new wine each visit. Tonight's wine will be for you Letty... Healing thoughts to Lori, Kim and family and friends. Carol, Paul and Liam (dog)

I worked with Letty for a number of years and one could not find a more genuinely nice person anywhere. I actually have known Letty since 7/1983 when she taught me as a benefit authorizer for Social Security but then we took separate paths until 2002 when I joined the Immediate Claims Taking Unit. She was the same lovely person as in 1983. An angel on earth so I know she will be the best darn Guardian Angel in Heaven

Letty was such a vibrant, wonderful person that it is very difficult to realize that she is no longer with us. We retired within a month of each other from the Jamaica SSA office and went on many enjoyable trips all over NYC after that. She was always so much fun to be with and so caring and thoughtful of others. I will miss her immensely. My heartfelt condolences to her daughters, grandchildren and extended family. Letty and I were co-workers for a few years at the Jamaica SSA District Office. And ( luckily for me) got to know each other as friends. She had such a kind and generous nature and was truly one of the most beautiful souls I have ever met. You always felt uplifted when you were with her. That quality of spirit is rare but she had it because she cared about others. Sincere condolences to Letty's family.

We were devastated to learn that Aunt Letty had so suddenly passed. It will take some time for the shock and disbelief to wear off for us all I'm sure. We wish we could come back to say our goodbyes but with the baby due any day we're unable to travel. Aunt Letty's kind and generous nature will live on in the hearts of those she touched forever. Our thoughts remain with you all during this very difficult time.

We had the great pleasure of knowing Letty through the Irwin family. We saw her at many birthday parties and holidays over the last ten years, and she was always so lovely. Always with a ready smile and joy to share. It was evident how much she loved spending time with, and talking about, all of her family. A wonderful lady for sure. We wish all of Letty's family her legacy filled with beautiful and happy memories!
