Vincent Panettieri (Vince), 77 years young, lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on the evening of February 15, 2017, at his home in Centerport, NY, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Bess, for 52 years; son of the late Giacomo and Marion; loving father to Donna and Vincent (Kristin), devoted grandfather to Jack Vincent and Nicholas James; cherished brother to Marie (Frank) Moretti and Catherine Joan Wray; fond uncle to many nieces and nephews and godfather to Hamilton Wray, David Moretti and Kristi D’Errico. Vince was born and raised in Long Island, New York; graduated Valley Stream Central High School in 1957; graduated Hofstra College in 1961 with an accounting degree; served in the United States Army in the Signal Corps as a second lieutenant from 1961 to 1963. He began his accounting career in 1963 and worked his way from a staff accountant for Klein, Katcher and Schultheis, CPA’s to managing partner of Schultheis & Panettieri, LLP (“S&P”). He was a devoted and hard worker and earned the respect and loyalty of many of his colleagues, clients and friends. S&P was a family to him where everyone looked out for each other, including his son and daughter who followed in his footsteps. He retired in 2005 and was able to relax and enjoy life with his wife, who was his best friend, in Orient Point, NY in the summers and Naples, Florida in the winters.
