Obituary of Audrey K. Tellier

Audrey Kathleen Tellier (nee Wade) Rockville, Maryland – Audrey K. Tellier, 95, of Sunrise Assisted Living, formerly of Northport, NY and Dumont, NJ. Passed away gracefully on February 15, 2017 with her daughters by her side. Audrey's life was a perfect blend of faith, family, friends, and fun! She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Oscar A. Tellier. Born at home, February 19, 1921, at 96 Perry Street in Greenwich Village, NYC, she was the oldest daughter of the late Raymond F. & Ruth (Halbriter) Wade. After graduating as Salutatorian from St. Francis Xavier High School in 1938, Audrey helped support her family by working various banks as a cleric, including Chemical Bank in NYC. Audrey and Ozzie met during WW II and wrote letters for the duration. They were married on April 29, 1945 in Dothan, Alabama, near Napier Field. Mr. & Mrs. O.A. Tellier enjoyed forty-one years of True Love & Faithfulness while raising a brood of 2 boys & 2 girls! As President of the Rosary & Altar Society at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Dumont, NJ; performing in amateur theatricals, part-time employee and founder of the Grandmother’s Club at Scholastic Magazines, Englewood, NJ; long-time participant in the Women’s Health Initiative; parishioner & Eucharistic Minister at St. Philip Neri in Northport, NY are a sampling of a full and well-balanced life. Audrey is survived by her four devoted children: Thomas (Cindy), Raymond K. (Pam), Denise (Joel) Cook, and Linda (Jim) Lawrence; eight grandchildren: Bryan, Peter, Christina, James, Loretta, Matthew, Katherine and Samantha; eight great-grandchildren from Connecticut to California: Daniel, Lillian, Bethany, Sarah, Luke, Kaylee, Genevieve and Juliet; Patti, mother of Peter & Chrissy and a clan of nieces and nephews in California including: Judy (Tom), Ellen, and Jodie. Visitation will take place at the Nolan & Taylor-Howe Funeral Home, 5 Laurel Avenue, Northport, NY 11768, Monday, 2-5 & 7-9 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00 am at St. Philip Neri Church, Northport. Burial will follow at Northport Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a modest donation to Montgomery Hospice, 6001 Muncaster Mill Road, Rockville, MD 20855, or your local hospice would be appreciated.
