Joan For over 45 years you have been my brash, no nonsense friend. We talked through all the difficulties of life over cups of coffee and tea. No matter how long the separation we quickly fell into a comfortable place. We were so different yet so much alike, yet so comfortable together. There are no words to express the importance of that friendship and the emptiness your death leaves behind. I will miss you greatly. I celebrate your life and the love you showered on family and friends. Thanks for your friendship.

Joan, I light this in your honor because your candle glowed brightly in my life for over 6 decades. From the playgrounds to the wedding alters, to the maternity ward 30 days apart you have always been a important part of my life. I am completely without words to express my sorrow at your passing. You were my rock through so many years of growing up, I am just so glad I got to tell you that before you passed. I will miss your sharp wit and frank approach to life.
