Dear Amato Family, Joanna taught me the ropes at St. Philips in 2nd grade and was a loving friend until my family left NY when we were entering high school. I am so very sorry to hear of her passing. To the Amato Family: I met Joanna at Northport Middle School, I believe in 9th grade. We instantly clicked and I was very fond of her. I often thought of her over the years and wondered how she was. I was so saddened to come across this last night and wanted to express my sympathy to her loved ones. May she rest in eternal peace.

My thoughts and prayers are with John and Tara and Laura and all of Joanna's family and friends. I have so many fond memories of Joanna from high school. Her smile, wit and kindness stand out. A tragically sad time for all. Cherish the memories and take care of one another! Peace to all!
