I have a set of antlers from his NY house up in my room. Off of it i have one of his hats hanging off of it, and a Northport Yacht Club hanging on it as well. Every time i see it, I remember a specific memory. My family was hanging out with him at his house in florida. My mom, dad, and my brother and I were outside looking at his new tractor. I walked in to the house to get him because we wanted to see the tractor in action. I walked in, and he had the antlers in his hand. He saw me, and and then slowly raised the antlers to his head. that is why i wanted those antlers specifically

All of us in the village of Head of the Harbor fondly remember Heiko's thoughtfulness, ability to solve a problem and his friendly personality. We salute the years of service to our village as a member and chair of numerous boards and as a Depty Mayor. There are so many pleasant memories of sailing, having a talk in his kitchen or just meeting him and chatting at the post office. Heiko had so many talents and good things about him, his loss is felt deeply. Love to Diane and his family.
