Tuttle, Robert E. on May 30, 2013, 90 years old, of Venice, Florida, formerly of Northport, NY. He was the loving husband for 52 years to the late Janet (Trainer) Tuttle who died December 2004. Bob was born in Huntington, New York to the late Elmer W. and Elfleda (nee Ketcham) Tuttle. He graduated Northport High School class of 1942, entering the U.S. Army Air Force shortly thereafter where he served as a sergeant, stationed in Guam. After the service he operated "Tuttle Motors" in Northport, a Dodge and Plymouth dealership with his father, Elmer. He enjoyed working on engines, and in his earlier life time was involved with speed boat racing, winning several trophies. In 1971, bob moved to Venice, FL and maintained a hanger first at the Sarasota-Bradenton Airport, then later at the Venice Regional Airport, where he restored private airplanes and built several experimental airplanes. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Northport, NY, and a Presbyterian. Graveside services at Genola Rural Cemetery, with U.S. Military Honors, on August 2, 1PM.
