Obituary of Elaine M. Strohmayer

Elaine M. Strohmayer on May 16, 2018, 83 years of age. (Formerly of the Bronx, NY) Devoted wife of Alfred. Loving mother of Kevin Hogan and his wife Pam, John Hogan and his wife Jayne, Brian Hogan and his wife Sue, Terese Pette and her husband Vincent, Kenneth Strohmayer and his wife Wendy, and Chris Strohmayer. Cherished grandmother of Michael, Kelly, Lauren, Daniel, Kirk, Kady & Sean. Beloved sister of Alice Klotz and her husband Howard, Dear Aunt of Barbara Bevill. Elaine grew up in Bronx, New York.  She attended Hunter College and had a long career at Bell Telephone/NYNEX. After she retired she lived in Calabash, North Carolina for over twenty years. While she was there she made many new friends, and enjoyed some interesting hobbies such as working with stained glass & creating some of her own pieces of art.  Many of which she shared with family & friends.  Elaine was  also a dedicated church volunteer, in addition to mentoring young children with reading disabilities. Elaine enjoyed traveling, classic movies, cooking, gardening and Frank Sinatra but especially enjoyed holidays with her large family. Visiting Nolan & Taylor-Howe Funeral Home, 5 Laurel Avenue, Northport, NY Sunday May 20, 2018 from 2-5pm & 7-9pm, Prayer service 8pm. Burial Monday at Maple Grove Cemetery, Kew Gardens, NY.
