Obituary of W. Bromley Hall, Jr.

Obituary – W. Bromley Hall, Jr.

William Bromley Hall, Jr. grew up in Queens New York, the son of Rita B. Nissen, a strong and independent woman, and William Bromley Hall, a New York City firefighter.

A graduate of Manhattan College, Bromley received his law degree from St. Johns University and in due course established a private practice, Parker and Hall, in Huntington, NY.  In later years he partnered with a Greenlawn firm, Flanagan, Hall, Kelly, Ronan, Spollen.

Active in the Republican Party, he worked on many local and national campaigns. His political activities led him to serve as Town Attorney in Huntington, and later as a Suffolk County Legislator, District Court Judge, Family Court Judge, and until retirement as a NY State Supreme Court Judge.

Upon his retirement, Bromley and his wife Patricia pursued their love of travel taking their RV throughout the U.S. and Canada. When Patricia’s health began to fail, he changed his focus to cooking and baking. He became known throughout the community for his homemade breads.

Bromley was also an active member of his local parish in Centerport, Our Lady Queen of Martyrs.  He served for many years as Lector, and in recent years he baked bread for OLQM church services, which allowed him to stay involved as a contributing member of the community -- right up to his 92nd birthday.

Bromley is the last of his generation, having been predeceased by his brother Raymond Hall, one of the engineers who worked on the Apollo 11 project, and his loving and beautiful wife of 60+ years, Patricia. He is survived by a large and loving family, including his adoring wife, Jennifer; his  children Virginia Petersen (Will), Christopher Hall (Susan), Patricia Zvokel (John), Melissa Hall (Michael Holober), W. Bromley Hall  (Stephanie), Timothy Hall (Rosanne), Gretchen Manzo (Paul) John Totten and Nikki Alcosser. Cherished grandfather of Eric (Kelcey), Nissa (Michael), Rebecca (Travis), James, William Bromley, Meghan, Luke, Anzinelle, Lauren, Lynn Marie, and Shane. Dear great grandfather of Gabby, Fin, Eleanor Bromley, and Penelope. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Bromley led a full and meaningful life. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
