Otto changed my life. Were it not for him, I would never have run for elective office and certainly wouldn’t be a judge 24 years later. It all started at the Shipwreck —with cigarette smoke, 40’s music and a dream to help make Northport a more neighborly place. Without question, as trustee and deputy mayor, he suceeded. And the Otto Hess legacy lives on in the Village we all know and love today.

My deepest condolences to you Gram (Jeanne) and the whole family. Otto was such a nice, caring, and funny man. He always listened, and was never judgmental. A man that would go out of his way to help to the most of his ability. A man who made you feel instantly welcomed with his funny sense of humor. We were all blessed to have him in our lives. I love you Otto for bringing Gram (Jeanne), and all of us a bit of joy in our hectic lives. I believe Otto wold only expect us to carry on our own lives to the fullest with the most highest expectations. And we mustn’t forget to accompany this with a sense of humor! God bless you Otto, may you Rest In Peace.
