Was so sorry to find out about the passing of your Mom, Maureen last year and also that Charlie had passed in 2009. Bill, Karen, Suzanne and Christopher...Janine and and I are thinking about you and our thoughts go out to you. I have great memories of your Mom and hanging out at the Lake household growing up. I always felt part of the family. Your Mom would host a Sunday Bar-B-Que on Sundays and all the relatives would show up. We would raid the liquor stash in the basement and the pool was always open! In grade school I remember packing into the Lake Family station wagon to drive to the Bronx Zoo. Your Dad took us to my first Yankee game.
Aunt Thelma & Frank would take Bill and I to the Westchester Golf Classic every year. After College Bill, Charlie and I did a two week Natl. Parks Colorado and Utah Trip. Karen and I went to see Elton John at Madison Square Garden two nights in row. Oh Yea...almost forgot..Maureen wasn't too happy with me after I got Bill arrested selling beer at the Blondie Concert in Central Park. Good times and great memories with the Lake Family...Miss you guys!

I would like to send along my deepest condolences to the Lake family, Karen, Billy, Christopher and Susan. I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your mom Maureen in 2018. She was so kind to me every time I would visit your brother Charlie (my best friend who I still miss to this day like one of my own brothers) at your house when we were kids growing up in Eaton's neck. She used to come to my house and play cards with my mom and other neighbors on my street. But she is with your brother Charlie and Dad in Heaven now and during her life on earth she was an angel too. God bless you all.
Your former neighbor and friend Chris Pagano

Maureen Lake, a beautiful Angel of the Earth and now in Heaven.
I miss her so much, we were extremely close friends. We were both there for each other in fun, laughter and in tears. Always soothing each other with words of wisdom. There is poem that I love that explains who this beautiful lady was. It was written by Emily Dickinson: "If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain; If I can ease one life the aching, or cool one pain, or help one fainting robin unto his nest again....I shall not live in vain." This was Maureen Lake.
At last you are with your beautiful Charlie and you are so happy to be with him, but there are those who miss you so much. You live in my heart dear friend, never to be forgotten.
PeggyAnn ...... I LOVE you dear Angel

Tell me why the stars do shine
Tell me why the ivy twines
Tell me why the sky's so blue
and I will tell you just why I love you
Because God made the stars to shine
Because God made the ivy twine
Because God made the sky so blue
Because God made you that's why I love you

I am so sorry to hear of Maureen's passing. She gave so freely her love and care to her family. I know how much you all will miss her. I will too. We spoke often on the phone and ended every call with "I love you". My prayers are with you all.
