Good day.
My name is Ivan.
I express my sincere condolences to you. To the whole family. I am a distant relative of Ann Agness Short and her daughter Ann Veronica Gilvary. My ancestor Veronika Tomko comes from a small village Ďačov (Slovakia). Veronika Tomko left for America in 1907. Ann Veronica Gilvary came to Slovakia to the village of Ďačov in 2011. I was 10 years old at the time. I am 19 years old now. I gather information about my ancestors. I wanted to contact Ann Veronica Gilvara, but I learned from the Internet that she died in 2018. I'm sorry. I would be very happy to receive a reply to this email.
Sincerely
your distant relative Ivana

I was just going through my old photos and came across one of Ann when we were working at the United Nations. We had met the year before at Nancy Taylor Secretarial School. I was even present at her wedding to Ken. Several years later I married and moved to Florida. Ann was better at keeping in touch than I, but as life changed for both of us, children arrived, work intervened, we lost touch.
I remember Ann as a caring and fun loving young woman. We shared many happy times together in our early days. I can only imagine how much love and pleasure she gave to all her family and friends. Thankfully she has a loving family that will keep her memory alive.

My first memory of my cousin Anne was visiting Jamaica in 1964 to attend the Worlds Fair. I was in the 4th grade and she was in high school. How cool it was to have an older cousin show you around the big city. Her love and compassion was felt way back then and she went on to share this great gift with her family and everyone around her. I was fortunate enough to hear her voice on the phone a few weeks back for the last time and you could feel her love of family and life.
Love Mike and Denise Borns, My mother (Mary Kubic Borns) is Anne’s mother (Ann Kubic Short) sister

I am sorry to learn of Ann's passing. We went to Dominican Commercial HS and became good friends. Ann joined my friends and I on vacations to Canada and Europe before she married Kenny. She had a great laugh....we lost touch after the move to Florida and I recently tried to locate her.
Please accept my sincere sympathy and prayers

My heart is broken. Anyone who had ever crossed paths with my Aunt Ann also has an empty place in their being. She was a caring, loving, understanding woman - like no one I have ever known.
I remember the first time Uncle Kenny brought this beautiful lady to our house in the early 1970's and introduced her as his girlfriend. I was a young teen at the time. I came to really know what a caring, loving, understanding woman she really was.
Soon she became our Aunt Ann. She and Uncle Kenny had 4 beautiful children - our cousins who are also loving, caring, understanding adults today. They did a great job!! Not many parents can say that about all of their children.
My Aunt Ann was a very special woman. I felt a very special connection with Aunt Ann. It took me almost 40 years to finally tell her exactly how much she meant to me and why. Even with all she was going through, she helped put me in a good place before a very scary surgery I was embarking on. I know God has blessed my Aunt Ann in so many ways but I know I was blessed by God to have her as my Aunt Ann.
Uncle Kenny, Ken, Keith, Maryann and Michael my heart is full of sorrow today for you and yours. May God help ease your sorrow today and going forward. Always remember you have a very special angel watching over you. With love, Cathy
