I had the pleasure of meeting Bill at head neck cancer survivor support group. I was given great advice by Bill.
He told me what to expect and what was permanent and what would improve with time. He was an inspiration in the way he lived life. He was blessed to be married to his best friend Anne who fought his disease and problems from the disease.
I will always remember Bill with a smile on my face.
He would want that.
Hope to see you tomorrow.
RIP Bill.

I’m saddened to learn of Bill’s death. Thoughts and prayers to his wife and family. I was fortunate to have met Bill during the challenging days at Fidelity. He is numbered high among my “client friends”. Bill was a person of great intelligence and character -always a sincere pleasure to work with and for, even when the times were tough. I always felt he found more insight, perhaps, by tilting his glasses so the temples rode high on his head- I have tried it and it does sharpen one’s vision- no kidding. But what a silly thing to pop unbidden into my thoughts. It’s far more important to remember Bill’s depth, and the thoughtful way he approached the people he encountered and life in general. He was a man of great curiosity and adventure to boot. You will be missed, Bill. Rest In Peace my friend!

Bill was there at the beginning of my career in banking. FDNY survived quarter to quarter selling that Freddie Pfd. Then the IPO - the only local IPO that resulted in the transition from under capitalized to well capitalized- then the sale to AF. The complete evolution of a local thrift. Bill was my first teacher. He was brilliant and I can say with certainty that time spent with Bill was time well spent. His travels and pictures were a source of amazement. I’ll always remember Bill’s silver Porsche and the way he wore those glasses. Bill was a gem. God bless you William.
