Obituary of John F. Golde

John F. "Jack" Golde of East Northport passed into the arms of the Lord on September 17, 2018 at 87 years of age. Jack was the loving husband of Jean T. (née Kirchert) and the beloved father of John (Cyndy), Robert (Pamela), Catherine (Edward) Fitzpatrick, Mary Hammond, Jeanie (Ken) Wright, and Michael (Kerry). He was a wonderful Grandfather to Liz, Sean, Chris, Bridget, Jacob, Ross, Mike, Evan, Jim, Clay, Abby, Lexie, Liam, Chloe and Stephanie and Greatgrandfather to Elijah, Caroline, Patrick John, Alaina, Samuel and Nora. He was loved by his sister-in-law Katherine Semenza and many nieces and nephews, and will be deeply missed by all.

Jack was an active and devoted member of the St. Anthony of Padua Congregation serving as a member of the original Parish Council as well as a member of the St. Joseph Council of the Knights of Columbus. He help start the Parish's CYO, and coached football and track. He drove the van for the Parish Outreach Center for many years.

He was involved in whatever activities his children participated as they grew up, including Little League and Scouting.

Jack was a proud graduate of St. John's University. He was a multi-medal winner on the University's track and cross country teams.

He was an avid woodworker, and his children and grandchildren are blessed to have his handiwork to remember him by.

Jack worked for over fifty years in the aerospace industry for such companies as Sperry Gyroscope and Airborne Instruments Laboratory.

He loved clamming (with his feet) and sailing on the sailboat boat Allie-Jean which he shared with his brother, Bill.

He was always ready to jump in and help whenever someone needed it.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Carillon and White Oaks Nursing Homes and the home health aides that assisted him for the compassionate care that they provided over the last several years.

In lieu of flowers, the Family requests donations to the St. Anthony of Padua Parish Outreach Center, 1025 Fifth Avenue, East Northport, NY. 11731.
