Obituary of Sylvester Roberts

On Thursday September 20, 2018, Sylvester (Sy) Roberts, passed away at the age of 88. He was the devoted husband to his beloved wife, Setta. Sy was predeceased by his first wife (Ethel), sister (Virginia), brother (Raymond), and leaves behind his sister, Patricia.

The pride and joy of Sy’s life were his six children, sixteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Children (Michael, Susan, Maura, Marsinay, Virginia and Christine). Grandchildren Jessica, Ryan, Erin, Sean, Michael, Deidre, Michael Jr. and Raymond; Justin; Franz, Christopher and Lauren; Nicholas and Jade; Julia and Olivia and many nieces and nephews. The legacy of Sy’s kind spirit, love of reading, music, gardening and zest for life will live on through them. He served in US Navy and for many years worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield.

A Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 12th at 10 am at St. Philip Neri in Northport. Burial will follow at Long Island National Cemetery with military honors.
