Obituary of Irene M. Scanlon

Irene M. Scanlon of Northport passed away at her daughter Janet’s home on October 11, 2018 at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Daniel. Loving mother of Mary (Daniel) Hawley, Janet (Stephen) Krivacsy, Laura Knox, Kathleen (Michael) Gaita and Daniel (Jandhie Sarante) Scanlon. Cherished grandmother of Christopher, Brian, Lauren, Sara, Thomas, Hayden, Michael, Matthew, Andrew, Emily, Samantha and Joseph. Loving aunt to Roberta, Jim (Nina) and Mary (Walter), great-aunt to Kate (Sean) and Elizabeth and great- great-aunt to Declan.   Cousin to Lucio and Angiola of Milan, Italy.  Irene was a devoted mother who cared for her family and welcomed everyone into her home.  Irene was an active member of St. Clare’s Church in Rosedale NY for 50 years and taught CCD, was a member of the Rosary Alter Society and a Eucharistic Minister.   Visiting Monday 2-5 & 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass 10 AM Tuesday at St. Philip Neri Church, Northport. Interment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.
