Stephen was my neighborhood friend when we were kids. We had so many kickball games in the street and basketball games on Landry place. He was a good athlete. He was so nice and easy to get along with. He was a great big brother to his sisters. I'm so sorry for everyone's loss. RIP Stephen and thank you for being one of the good guys.

There are so many wonderful memories of our time with Steve - and they range from hilarious childhood games and shenanigans to crazed soccer games in the backyard. Being the youngest of the boys (Alberto, me, Enrico, Steve...) also meant that he also had to endure the brunt of our teasing, which he accepted graciously despite any risk of personal injury or embarrassment. Sleigh riding, glow ball in the den, throwing pillows at his feet to trip him up while running - no issue, he loved it all. One memorable sleigh-riding evening, I personally witnessed Steve, Joanne, and a friend go airborne over our heads and land face first in the snow. Hilarious. Another time, while riding waves at our annual “breakfast at the beach” party at Robert Moses, Steve was riding and unfortunately caught a wave at the wrong time, and my lasting image was his back caught in the curl of the wave just before crashing that was followed soon after by his flailing limbs as he rolled into shore. He popped up, looked at us all laughing and joined in the laughter. Never a dull, quiet, uneventful moment when Steve was there. He will be sorely missed by everyone...
