Obituary of Blanche Marie Komarek

Komarek, Blanche Marie of Northport on October 7, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Albin. Loving mother of Dawn (Mark) Komarek Mandzik. Cherished grandmother of Jove Mandzik, Teal Mandzik, Cassady Mandzik and Sage (Josh) Kahn. Dear great grandmother of Zora Kahn, River Kahn and Naiyah Mandzik. Blanche will be cremated and her ashes will be interred at Calverton National Cemetery at a later date. A longtime resident of Northport, Blanche lived a full and adventuresome life. She never sat still, grabbing every opportunity to enrich her world. She believed in education and loved her experience at Grinnell College, and her further education at Adelphi University and LIU Post. She had many careers beginning with McGraw Hill Publishing and ending as a Transactional therapist. Most of her adult life she worked at Hauppauge Unified School District plus enjoying the leisure pursuit of pottery and water color. She traveled extensively, loved her family, her garden, and her community. A motto that embraces Blanche, "Live life with gusto and remember to give back." Donations to Grinnell College.
