Obituary of Thor H. Paulsen

Paulsen, Thor Halfdan - Of Northport, on December 2nd, 2018, 64 years of age. Born in Manhattan to the late Fredrik & Dorothy Paulsen. Thor spent much of his life on the water becoming an avid and expert sailor. In his earlier years, he worked as a salesman for Paulsen Wire Rope Corporation and as Dock Master while living in Douglaston.  Most recently he worked at LI Marine Group here in Northport. He is remembered with love by his brother and sister in-law, Fredrik Jr. & Pam Paulsen of Lewisburg, PA along with his former wife Barbara Caufield and all of the Caufield family. He was preceded in death by a brother, Peter Jon Paulsen. The family would like to extend its deepest appreciation to Peter Atlas, Susan Woolsey and Kim Langendorfer for the compassion and support they provided Thor during his extended illness. Thor will be privately cremated with his ashes going back to his beloved sea. Those who loved him will find him forever in the breezes on Long Island Sound.  Sail on, Captain Thor!
