"In a world where you can be anything, be kind."
Every time I saw Charlie: Ocean Ave. Fall Fair, SPN, Village playground ... in his maroon Ford Explorer, donning suspenders ... This was my thought.
What a fine example of the human beings we should all strive to be.
You will be missed Charlie.
Prayers and thoughts to your family.

Charlie Beck was a teacher and a friend—full of life, vim, and vigor, with a quick wit and a friendly word for everyone. My family and I first met Charlie through our friends the Goddards, but it seemed (it always seemed) like we’d known him our whole lives, he was so warm and welcoming. He became my catechism teacher in the year before Confirmation, and he was jubilant about sharing his faith with people; he saw Catholicism as joyful rather than straitlaced. His class was by far the most memorable religious education class I had.
He loved his family and friends so much, and he had the gift of great storytelling about them or any subject that came to his mind. It was always nice to see him in church on Sunday, his attention as rapt as always. One of the last times I saw him, he put his hand on my shoulder and wanted to hear about my college experiences. That was just the way he was.
We’ll all miss him—his wit, his charm, his way of lighting up a room. R.I.P., Mr. Beck, and thank you.

In June 2000, when I arrived very first time at St. Philip Neri parish and USA as a summer help, Charlie was one of the first kindest and loving person to welcome and embrace me in the parish family. He truly lived the Gospel of Joy by sharing with his family and the children of the Faith Formation Program. He was a Proud Catholic American. I will miss you pal. Extending my condolences to his family and friends. May you find the gentle embrace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Blessings to Barbara and your family. We are all, ( Karl and Charlie) saddened by his passing. Charlie gave us “food for thought “ with his many stories and love of history. What a fascinating person he was!
God bless you all always,
Susan Charlie and Karl Salzmann

Charlie had a green thumb. He was able to grow anything. This was a visit to the Bouchert Gardens in BC, Canada.

Lovingly remember so many years of friendship with Charlie and Barbara. Whale watching in the Pacific Northwest and their stay at Salmonberry farm is so fondly remembered.

My Fondest Memories of Charlie is when my daughter Anna was in elementary school. He was always such a love with her and attentive to the young people. Charlie had a unique wit. At parties at our mutual friends Babs and Pat, Charlie and my now deceased husband Jan, would huddle in a corner either laughing or serious in in-depth conversations. I found Charlie to the kind of person who could chat with just about anyone. He had a way to find a part of their human Spirit to connect with. Much appreciation also goes to Charlie for bringing a very special connection to me and my fiance Nick with an old 1931 Chevy. God bless you always, Charlie. You will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved you!

I am so sorry to hear of Charlie’s passing. He was such a wonderful man. I had the pleasure of working with him. He loved teaching religion to the children of Northport. He always had a great story and a great smile. He will be missed and will be remembered by so many.

I can't help but to smile as I remember the fun times we shared with Ana and my girls when they were little- with Charlie of course. There are few men as good as Charlie. He was truly a genuinely kind-hearted and good man who lived his faith in every aspect of his life. Our prayers are for Charlie, who certainly had a special seat in heaven waiting for him, and for Barbara, Ana and all his children. Love to you all from all the Wallaces.
