I lived next door to Cathy on Bayside Ave. We spent a lot of time together. I was just looking up names to get in touch when I found this. I am so sorry for your loss. Doubly sad to see that Barbara passed also. Prayers are with you all. I have all good memories. Uncle Jimmy made THE best sauce ever...with love and sadness..Susie

I distinctly remember her Jeep when she would come to any family gatherings. Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to hear all of her amazing stories about our families history, but I am glad to have spent amazing moments with her. I am very thankful for the endless kindness that she had towards my brother and I.
Aunt Cathy will be missed, but not forgotten.

Yes, Jack, if anyone knew the Seringer family history it was Cathy! She was a wonderful listener, and unbeknownst to many of us, keeper of many Seringer stories! And, Cathy did have a wonderful smile and smiled and laughed a lot when she spoke about her animals - many, rescues that she lovingly adopted and cared for. We remember when she got her first dog, a black spaniel. Not sure how she convinced Uncle Jimmy to agree to that but he grew to love that dog too.
Cathy traveled to PA with us a few times to spend vacations on our grandparents' farm. Days together on the farm are great memories. But, most of all, we remember and are so grateful for the many times Cathy stopped by to see Uncle Joe and Aunt Ginny - especially in their later years. Whether she stopped on her lunch break or on her way home from work, she always managed to cheer them up and brighten their day!

I remember when Cathy was about 8 or 9 years old she had the whole town of Oyster Bay and all of her relatives looking for her, everyone was in a panic, fire trucks canvassing every street in town, I was about 12 at the time and my dad took me with him on the search, so the panic I saw in everybody’s face really affected me at the time.
OK this is how the story unfolded ........it seemed that Cathy received a bad report card and she understandably was afraid to show her dad, so in a panic she came home from school and hid under the front porch ( a place all us kids hid while playing hide-n- seek ) here is where it gets interesting, Cathy ended up falling asleep all balled up in the corner. She had no idea all the commotion and panic going on around her. Finally one of the firemen decided to crawl under the porch,
And yes “ THERE SHE WAS “ I don’t know what happened to her that night, but I know what would have happened to me in that same situation, that old leather belt would have come out. WOW was I glad that wasn’t me. Anyway all of us cousins were so close back then and we have such great memories, we are all going to miss you Cathy. You will be in our prayers and thoughts and one day we will all be together again. Lots of love, Bob

Joan and I remember Cathy's great smile, her sense of humor her excitement for life.
We will also remember the loyalty and respect Cathy had for her Dad (to us Uncle Jimmy) sheparding him through the latter stages of life. Although Cathy was always optimistic about life....she seemed be super charged when it came to Thanksgiving and Christmas...truly a Christmas person
Cathy also served as the "unofficial" keeper of the Seringer chronicles....she always seemed to know what all the cousins and uncles were up to and could easily recite family history for those of us who forgot or confused
Growing up, Cathy spent many weeks at our house (Aunt Ann), also at Uncle Pete's and Uncle Joe's but always had the best smile when Uncle Jimmy would come to pick her up. Although we had lost touch over the years, I also thought of Cathy as the sister I never had.
So sad to learn of Cathy's passing Joan & Jack Dailey
