I knew a “Patrick O’Connor” who attended St Philip Neri elementary school as I did back in the 1950’s. The photo sure looks like him as I remember then. We hung out together and played baseball. He was a better ball player than me, and went further in Little League. Around 1957, my family moved away from Northport and we lost contact. I am 79, near 80, and he was a couple years younger than me. But I called him Pat. We all did. So I am not sure if we are talking about the same person. Sorry, this I found out, is not the same Pat O’Connor I knew as a boy growing up in Northport. I believe he is still living. I apologize for the mistake. Still, my condolences to the family and friends of Mr O’Connor, whose obituary is posted here. John J. Flanagan

I am so sorry for your loss, he was a wonderful, funny, generous person, and I will always cherish the time my family spent with him, Cindy, and the rest of the family, especially at the cabin. He will be sorely missed.

Butch was a good friend and baseball teammate for many years. From Little League, Babe Ruth, and Northport High School, and later years a softball teammate. I could always depend on Butch to pick me up, if I was down. Enjoyed playing with him when his Father coached us in Babe Ruth competition. He has left us too early, but we all have some “great” memories of him and with him.
