I had the honor of meeting Mr. Davenport during a community service stint at Lewis Oliver. I fractured an occasional law or two growing up, but as an adult, it was different. It could’ve cost me my job at the time, but I managed to keep it. While working with Bill, I kept my dignity as well. He was stern but fair. I gained perspective in my life during that time, and as a result, became more REspective, if that is such a word, of authority. I always wanted to thank him for that opportunity; I hope this forum gives me a least a chance to thank his family for allowing me to know him. Words are never adequate in moments like these. We will say though, that our hearts go out to you, and we will always remember the joyous memories that we are privileged to have in knowing your father. God rest his soul. We love you Bill! Rest in peace dear friend, The Kuhn Family

Bill was a hero of mine. Over the years I watched him help so many young people find their way. He gave them a chance they wouldn't have gotten any other way. He was kind but held them accountable. He was also very funny. I had many a good laugh at the farm. I was so lucky to have had him as a friend. The world is a better place because of him. I am sending my family's condolences to his large family. We all loved him. The Gehrhardts
