While I have not seen Uncle Melvin in many years, I have fond memories of his visits to Houston when I was a child. I recall him being quick to smile, friendly and sweet. I am sorry, Melvin Jr. and family, for your loss. I know he had been sick for several years. I hope he is now in peace. Your cousin, Jeanne LaCour

We were blessed to have you as our dad. A brave, honorable, loyal and kind man. Your laughter was loud and hardy and those around you could not help but join in. You enjoyed life to its fullest and I will always be proud to say our dad was loved by family and friends but he was deeply beloved by his one and only son (Melvin Jr.) and by me, his daughter (Alice). Rest in Peace

Command Sergeant Major McGregor: It was indeed a great pleasure swimming with our group at Little Bay Beach on St. Croix. May you now swim in the waters of eternal peace.

Our thoughts & prayers are with the McGregor family. I met Uncle Melvin in the late 90's, while visiting Tony Fortune & his family at Ft. McPherson, GA. It was very fortunate for me that Uncle Melvin was visiting during my stay. It was a pleasure, but more importantly, listening to his military and life-long experiences. Within a short span of time, he became my "Uncle", and always has been over the past years. As Tony would share with me and others, Uncle Melvin always would asked about us, and how we were doing. He instilled in me a sense of pride, and how to reach-back and help others along the journey. Uncle Melvin will truly be missed by me and so many others, but his memories will always remain with us.
God Bless

I knew Melvin through his brother, my Uncle Charles. He was a sweet man and was always good to speak with him. I last saw him at his Alice's wedding.
