Dear Aunt Gloria, Mike, and Tom:
We were so sorry to hear about Uncle Ed’s passing. Thinking about him brought back so many wonderful memories from childhood. I remember how much I loved those football games between the Midgets and the Senior Citizens. My Dad was quarterback, and Uncle Ed the younger and more agile receiver. Uncle Ed called himself “Twinkle Toes” and would always make these incredible one-hand catches, bobbling the ball until the last possible moment. I’ll never forget that famous razzle-dazzle play when the Senior Citizens upset the Midgets (in more ways than one)! I also recall all the fun baseball games and meals we shared together in Rosedale and later in Centerport. I remember when Uncle Ed gave me tickets for the first Giant football game I ever went to. He let me choose
the game. I picked the Giants vs. the New Orleans Saints and never forgot that experience at the original Yankee Stadium. Uncle Ed was a big part of our lives
at a very formative stage, always fun, always welcoming. I cherish those memories. He lived a long life, much of it surrounded by his loving wife, sons and grandchildren. May his soul rest in the peace and happiness he deserves.
