Obituary of Marianna H. Branston

Marianna Branston 88 passed away peacefully the morning of July 9, 2020. She was preceded in death by her Husband William in 2000. Born on a farm in Marion, Tx in 1932 at only 2 ¼ pounds it was said that her aunt kept her alive those first few days by keeping her warm in a homemade incubator made with a lightbulb and a padded shoebox. She lived her life with the inner strength of someone who knew adversity from the beginning and was known for her kindness and giving nature her entire life.

Marianna, a long time resident of East Northport would go on to retire to San Diego, California with husband Bill, then returned to the Huntington area to be close to family in 2014.

Marianna is survived by her daughter Roxanne (Donald), stepchildren William (Patricia), Barbara (Jospeh), Patricia (Victor), John (Juliet) and Bruce (Donna); Grandchildren Connor, Daniel, Jennifer (Michael), Rachael (Bryan), Kristen (Dominic), Alex, Alana, Reid and beautiful Great-Grandchildren Vincent, Eli, Vivian, Quinn and Beck.

A long time animal lover throughout her life, donations can be made in her name to Almost Home Animal Rescue and Adoption at 646 Route 112 Patchogue, NY 11772, an Animal Rescue located near the Assisted Living "A Hidden Gem" where she was lovingly cared for during her last years.

Visiting will be 7-9 Tuesday July 14. Masks are required. Please be mindful that visitors are limited to 40 people in the building at a time and be respectful to those who may be waiting to visit by keeping your stay brief if possible.
