Obituary of Michael Terrence Wood

On Monday August 3, 2020, Michael Terrence Wood, loving husband to Linda and father of two children, passed away at the age of 70.

Michael was born on September 12, 1949 in Brooklyn, New York. He was the son of Richard Wood, a WW2 Veteran, and Katherine Wood (Poplawska). His parents had six boys: Richard, Gerald, Michael, Ronald, Kenneth and Christopher. Throughout the later years in his life, Michael lived with his family in Northport, Germany, Manhattan and NJ. He is survived by his wife Linda, son Paul Michael, daughter Gabriella Marie, brother Kenneth, sister-in-law Shari, nephew Philip, nephew Bryan, niece Alison, her husband Terry McCahey and their children Matthew, Ryan and Aidan, and his many cousins.

Michael held an MBA from CW Post in Greenvale, NY and worked as a CFO in Real Estate, most recently for developers Michael Axelrod and the Holiday Organization, both located in Westbury, NY. His passions were investing in stocks, listening to music ranging from Mozart to Woodstock, and  spending time with his immediate family and his cousins – some of his fondest memories were large Wood family gatherings. Michael’s wit, knowledge of history, music, politics, finance and his way of expressing his thoughts, leave many with unique memories. He lived his life in pursuit of always doing the right thing. Michael was caring, smart, trustworthy, and a great friend to many.

Visiting will be 5:30-9pm. Funeral Mass at St. Philip Neri, Northport on August 8, 2020 at 9:30am with burial to follow at St. Charles Resurrection Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.
