Obituary of Gerard Joseph Quinn
Died on 10-11-2020 at 71 years old. Jerry loved serving our great city of New York for 50 years, first as a honored NYPD Lieutenant and then as a Senior Investigator for the State Attorney General’s Office Organized Crime Control Task Force. He had a huge heart especially for the many animals that wandered into his life and for the 21 nieces and nephews that made his life full of joy. He and his wife Terry were devoted to each other & were married for 44 years. Fort Salonga became a magical place for them to create a loving home for each other, host many parties and make fantastic memories for 41 years. He was born on a Sunday and died on a Sunday. As the nursery Rhyme says “ But the child born on the Sabbath is loving and giving, good and gay”. You always knew where you stood with Jerry, he did not suffer fools lightly. He was quick witted and loved to pull jokes and pranks that many of you reading this were at the receiving end. His life was well lived and he always made sure he ended each chapter on a high note. His ending was no different, he fought hard but left on his terms still pretty strong and chatting you up. God’s speed my sweet honeyboy until we meet again.
He is survived by his loving wife Geraldine. Beloved brother of Eileen (Billy) Southard, Alice Quinn, Rosemary Graham and Kevin (Tricia) Quinn. Dear brother in-law of Dell (Tony) D'Alessandro, Lynn (Bob) Smith, Gregory (Deb) Clark, Glenn (Donna) Clark and the late Billy (Alyce) Clark.
Reposing Friday 6-9 PM at the Nolan Funeral Home, 5 Laurel Ave., Northport, NY. Funeral Mass Saturday, 10:30 AM at St. Philip Neri Church, Northport. Cremation to follow at the Nassau-Suffolk Crematory, Lake Ronkonkoma, NY.
