I knew Matthew when he was a boy and to know him even then was a special privilege. Matthew had this knowing about him. I'm truly heart broken to hear of his loss, I'm sure he grew up to be even a more exceptional young man. But I know he is just fine and blessing all down here.

Matt was truly one of a kind. On our team he was given the nickname Savage due to his sheer determination and will-power, which he put towards everything he did. Matt would get up early for a morning lift before work, traveling over a mile to the train station sometimes in the winter he wore long sleeves. His attitude was that of winning and excellence whether it be on the field as goalie during our company soccer matches or at the workplace where he was the first in and many times the last to leave. On train rides we shared stories and beers, often after a Yankee game, annoying the other commuters because we busy were enjoying life. Matt was an extremely caring and loyal individual who never missed out on a chance to be part of any get together. God bless all the family and friends who have been part of his life. Susan, I remember when Matthew would come into the restaurant and how happy he would make us all, especially you. I remember you would cut his pancakes for him and I had to do it one time you were busy. I’m so sorry you all are going through this. I can’t imagine. I know how much joy he gave you and I wish I could bring him back. No words I can say right now could make any sense. I’m praying for you and hope you know I am here for you if you need anything.
