I didn't know Izzy at all, but my heart is heavy for Sharon. Sharon and I were best friends in Baldwin all through elementary school. She and Evelyn, my younger sister, Vicki and I, played together every day. We completely were at home in each other's houses. I remember when Lizanne, Billy and Jimmy were born. It was like members of my own family.
I loved trimming the tree with them every Christmas.It was a treat for this Jewish girl who had only the far less glamorous menorah during the season. Sharon and I both ended up marrying women. I, too, have had the blessing of a longterm partner who continues to bring me joy. So, though we've been out of touch for so many decades, I empathize profoundly with Sharon and I want to send my love and whatever comfort can come from a long-lost playmate.

Our hearts are truly broken with the passing of our dear friend Isobel. Our prayers and thoughts are especially for Sharon. We are blessed to have known Isobel for over 40 years. I am very sad to learn of Isobel's passing. She was truly a very good and nice person. Please accept my sincere condolences. I will keep her, as well as Sharon, Marilyn, Rob and James, and all the rest of Isobel's family, in my thoughts and prayers. Unfortunately, due to my own health issues during this pandemic, I cannot risk public gatherings, and therefore will be unable to attend the services at Nolan's, but I will be making a donation to St Jude's in Isobel's name.
