I was so bummed to hear of Tom’s passing. Tom and I became friends in Jr high and were pretty tight all through high school. He was such a great guy who would do anything for anyone. Tom was in my wedding party and on the morning of the wedding, I noticed my tux pants were a few inches too short. Tom and I were the same size and he suggested we switch pants. He looked like he was about to go digging for clams in a tux but I could tell that he didn’t care. That’s the guy Tom was. His passing is a huge loss to everyone who was lucky enough to have known him. My thoughts are with Karen, his children and all of his siblings.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Tom's condition earlier this year, but I was glad I was able to talk with him a number of times since to let him know his influence spanned a lifetime for us all. Tom and I met on the playground at 5th Avenue Elem. our friendship started off in a scuffle but through our reprimanding we came thick as thieves. I cannot look back on my years growing up in East Northport without a memory of Tom. He was one of the best of friends to me. Wrist rockets, bee bee guns, riding through the woods jumping our bikes, heading off in a whiteout to ski in Vermont and so many wonderful memories I could go on and on. I will always remember his love of life, laughter and fun, but Tom came around to the man he was when he met Karen. Karen you made Tom whole and gave him what he always wanted out of life, the love of his own Family. You are all in my heart and prayers. God Bless!

I just heard about Tom's passing. I am beyond devastated! We went to school together Kindergarten thru Senior year. I am so sorry that we lost contact. I saw him last at our 20 year reunion and was thrilled to see him so happy in life. We laughed about childhood memories. Sending healing hugs to Tom's wife, children and siblings.

I met Uncle Tom nearly 19.5 years ago, which is crazy to even think. Some of my best childhood memories come from being apart of the Kelly Green co. with Arminio, Poncho, and Uncle Tom. Another everlasting memory will be the Annual Kelly Thanksgiving game led by Uncle Tom and my dad. Uncle Tom will always be remembered for his hardworking, loving, and always keeping the ‘kid’ in him spirit. Lastly, the stories that my dad tells me of Uncle Tom being fearless, protective, and selfless is something I will always try to emulate. Taken way too soon. Rest In Peace.

While very few men are truly deserving of the title great, my Uncle Tom certainly was. Some of the stories I have heard these past few days of him going above and beyond for not just his family but also his employees and regular people show how special he was. I will miss the paper fights on Christmas morning, seeing a friendly face on the sidelines while I reffed a basketball game for Kaitlyn or Tommy and most of all just seeing the Kelly Green truck outside on a random morning and knowing Uncle Tom was working hard on something that I definitely couldn’t handle. Rest In Peace Uncle Tom, you will be missed.

Me and my Uncle Tommy were so alike. We loved nature, and trying new things. Oh that Uncle Tommy I remember on Christmas morning we would have wrapping paper fights and I always won . It would get intense few shots to the face . Also one time he took popsicle sticks and made a frisbee . I was so amazed it was crazy . When my Uncle Tommy made that frisbee out of popsicle sticks that just reminds me of him. Man, he was so talented , so funny and just amazing . He had the best sense of humor . When he would joke it was so funny but had a little love in there . Uncle Tommy taught me so many things . My Uncle Tommy was so loved especially by me.

I am beyond shocked. One of the sweetest , most gentle guys I have ever known. I have a photo somewhere from our Senior prom - the Deli Kids - I will look for it and share it if I find it. My heart is broken for the entire Kelly family. RIP Tommy.

We have known Tom for 25 years(maybe more) As many people have said ;Tom was unusually gentle and loving to people AND DOGS! So here's a little Tom story. About 4 years ago(maybe more)I'm on line in Country Hot Bagel. Early morning;I'm in my own bagel reverie. I look up and a guy on line 2 spaces in front of me is being CLIMBED like a tree by 3 his young kids. I never forgot the scene. The guy is loving it; the kids are thinking their Dad is a human Monkey Bar;it's great. The guy lifts an arm up to the highest climber; and who the heck is it? Tom ! I shared with him how great that scene was. And how it revealed so much about "the Tree" that was Tom. In today's world especially; heroes and role models are usually unsung. Tom will never be forgotten by many people; and more than that; his grace will live in us forever.

It's hard to find a reason to smile without Tom. But this picture of him with some hair made me laugh. He will always be a part of me and all who have had the privilege to know and love him.
