Obituary of Angela Marie Haridopolos

Angela Marie Haridopolos passed away peacefully in her sleep in Northport, NY on February 10, 2021. She was 91 years of age. Adored daughter of the late John & Florence Morreale. Beloved wife of John. Loving mother of Maryflorence Brennan (Bob), Johnadam Haridopolos and Maryangela Tobin (Steve Duggan). Cherished grandmother of Bobby, Michael & Matthew Brennan and Madelyn & Lily Tobin. Loved by her sister Eileen Entler and her late brothers Michael, John, Julius and Vincent Morreale.

Angela was born in Ridgefield, NJ to John and Florence Morreale and was the third eldest of six children. During her childhood years she and her family moved from Dumont, NJ to the Belmont section of The Bronx, where they lived next to a bakery. She adored and looked up to her older brothers and cared for and cherished her younger ones. Her baby sister, Eileen, 14 years younger, was her friend and is her forever soul sister. Angela shared many happy memories with friends especially Annie and Angie, who married her brother Johnny.  Angela graduated from Hunter College, where she earned her bachelor of arts in 1959 and graduate teaching degree in 1961. During college, Angela met John Haridopolos from Astoria at a church party. Angela loved John’s family, appreciated his knowledge of fruits and vegetables, and shared his love of the beach and gardening. They were married in 1957. Prior to having children, Angela taught elementary school in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan. Angela and John lived in Jackson Heights, Queens before moving to a newly built home in Northport, NY in 1968. Angela and John raised their three children (and two Dalmatians) in Northport, where she worked as a realtor for many years. Angela’s faith in God and her family were the most important things in her life.   Angela loved the New York Yankees, dogs (Cleo, Prima, Honey, Rosie, Cam, Bear & Finn), and being with her children and grandchildren, especially at the beach, poolside, backyard barbecues, baking gingerbread cookies at Christmas, making Easter eggs, reading stories, and cheering them on at their baseball, soccer and hockey games. Angela was a beautiful, strong, independent woman who cared deeply about her family, community, and the world.  She was loved dearly and will be truly missed.
