Obituary of Kathleen A. Kavanagh

Kavanagh, Kathleen A. on June 7th, 2021 in her 83rd year of Centerport. Beloved wife of the late Valentine. Loving mother of Thomas M. Kavanagh (Monica), the late Terrence Kavanagh, Chris J. Kavanagh (Susan) and Kathleen A. Grignano (David), Fond grandmother of Nicholas, Salvatore, Kayla, Theodore, Xavier and Carolina. Proud great-grandmother of Tyler. Kathleen was born December 28, 1937 in Manhattan, NY to Terrence and Rose Cumiskey. She grew up in Washington Heights along with her six siblings, James, Ted, Rosemarie, Owen, Brian and Regina. She graduated from Misericordia Hospital Nursing School in 1958. Upon graduation she married the love of her life, Valentine T. Kavanagh and together they raised four children, Thomas, Terry, Chris and Kathleen. In,1972 the family moved from NYC to the beautiful beach community of Centerport, NY. Kathleen loved living in Centerport. She was a devoted member of her parish, Our Lady Queen of Martyrs. She loved her home and the birds in her yard. Through her work as an RN, her church and her involvement in several local organizations, Kathleen had many friends and loved ones. Reposing Nolan Funeral Home, 5 Laurel Avenue Northport, Thursday 2-4:30 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass Friday 10:30 AM, at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Centerport. Private cremation to follow.
