Obituary of Steven C. Wyka

Steven Christopher Wyka, "Senator" of Mertztown Pennsylvania, passed away suddenly on July 5, 2021 at 70 years of age. Beloved husband of Karen for 38 years. Devoted father of Joshua (Corryn) Wyka and Aaron (Annie) Wyka. He is warmly remembered by eight siblings Barbara (Gene) Pami, Patricia (late Carl) Marciniak, Arlene, Peter (Kathy) Wyka, Richard (Barbara) Wyka, and his late brothers Robert and Theodore and his late sister Marlene. Also loved by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and his two Godsons Rick Wyka and Jason Basilicata.

He spent most of his life employed in the trucking industry, starting as a parts manager, and working up to sales before branching out independently in logistics. As township supervisor for 12 years, his motto was "I have always done what was best for the entire township. I have not, nor will I ever, put the wants of individuals or special interest groups before the needs of Longswamp Township." With retirement just shy of one month away, he leaves his duty as Township Operating Administrator.

Visiting Nolan Funeral Home Friday 1-2 pm and a Prayer service at 2 pm with a burial to follow at Northport Rural Cemetery.
