Obituary of Doris M. Carpenter
Doris M. Carpenter, of Summerfield FL, formerly of Northport, NY, passed away on October 15, 2021, at the age of 100. She was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania to Margaret and Alexander Smith on July 7, 1921. She is survived by her very loving daughter Donna Cetta, her granddaughters Tina Friedrich (Randy) and Vikki Ervin (Joe), as well as her nephew John Nosach (Jill). She is also survived by her cherished great-grandchildren Stephan, Erik, Michael, Amanda, and Justin.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Warren, her sister Margaret Nosach, her son Richard, and her son-in-law John Cetta.
She retired from Grumman Aerospace as a cost controller working on the A-6 and F-14 fighter jets.
After retiring to Florida, Doris was very active in a reading program for underprivileged children. She was a writer for her community newspaper, belonged to the Red Hat Society, learned to play billiards at the age of 75, and loved performing in variety shows at her community center. In her downtime, she loved knitting and crocheting. Doris was a member of the United Methodist Church in Fruitland Park, Florida.
