Obituary of Kenneth E. Gomes
A long suffering NY Met and Jet fan, Ken was a man of great passion and loyalty. Brooklyn bred, his love of sports began with unwavering support for his cherished Dodgers, thus preparing him for a lifetime of sports hardship. An entrepreneur since1946, with his brother Roy he later formed the Kenroy business partnership. In subsequent years he enjoyed building a successful business with his three sons at Topaz, thus ensuring future generations of grandchild summer employment. Along with his wife Estelle, he corralled his brood of five by teaching them the finer points of leaf raking, basement flood control, morning opera and crepe making. Sharing his passions for history, travel, skiing, tennis, theatre, and art were some of the greatest gifts he gave to his children. In later years, he shared his zest for life with his beloved wife Debbie. Their abiding love for each other was apparent at all times, whether cruising aboard a riverboat or dining together at their favorite restaurants. He deeply, deeply loved Debbie. Loyalty, friendship and love were his strongest values.... seeing only the positive..."absolutely the best!!" was his description of all he enjoyed. Ken's full embrace of life and living is his greatest legacy.
