I will always remember my dad’s constant encouragement and teaching me to help the less fortunate. His love and enthusiasm for the simple things in life will stay with me forever. Thanks dad and much love. You are sorely missed.
Dear Victoria: My heart goes out to you and your family. I have fond memories of chatting with your Dad field-side at the kids games/events throughout the years. Such a dedicated and good man! I can still see him walking Christopher to the car after picking him up from a play date; His arm lovingly wrapped around Chris as he asked him about his day. He really loved your kids very much and it showed! His incredible creation/gift of the wooden reindeer family perched on your front yard each Christmas has often brought me a smile. I always got a kick out of your efforts to keep them all standing upright despite the winds of winter; But once they were all perfectly lined up there was not a more loving or impressive Christmas display in all of Manhasset! All thanks to your Dad! I regret that I learned of your Dad's passing today while up in Boston and could not attend the services. But I wanted you to know that you are all in my prayers. May fond memories of this very special man comfort you during this difficult time. Love and Friendship, Lisa
I was very sad to hear that Mr. Hilsky passed away. Once I heard this sad news it brought back some great memories both as a student of his and as a player on the many sports he coached. From being on the undefeated 1971 East Street basketball team ( I was in 4th grade) to my senior year 1979 varsity baseball team he was truly an exceptional teacher and coach. During those years he was like a second father to me since I spent so much time with him. I remember when he would bring his daughters to the Saturday baseball practices and they would be running all over. He will be missed by many people and never forgotten. God Bless.
I'm deeply saddened by the passing of Robert. It seemed that wherever you went in Centerport there was Robert Hilsky either taking a walk or driving in his car. I will miss his presence at the Crescent Club where he was always assisting at various outings with his smiling face and cheerful demeanor. He always ask about my Dad and how he was doing. He always had a kind word to say about everyone. Sorry I cannot be present for the wake or the funeral as I am away. My love to the family.
