Hello, Krisann, this is Rosie Cioffi (Miller). I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your sweet mom. It’s a heart break when we have to watch them slip away but the memories I have of her were always of kindness and gentleness. She always had a sweet encouraging word for me and it made me feel special. She loved my mother as well which makes me fondly remember them chatting and laughing at the end of our driveways. :) I pray that you and yours, as well as Michael’s family, will be comforted by the LORD and smile with joy of all she was to you and many others. All my love, Rosie (the picture is of myself and my husband, Rob)

It is a privilege to celebrate the remarkable life of Addie, my grandmother. For me, she will forever be remembered as a fun-loving, adventurous, caring, smart, joy-filled woman. My strongest memory of her will always be her light-hearted joyous smile and laugh.
Of course, some of my fondest memories of her revolve around food. I’m sure each one of the family can relate, she always kept us fed, even if we weren’t hungry. I can remember lunch dates with grandma at the local diner: we would each always order our own meals, and you known diner meals - they’re huge! So the food would come to the table and she would immediately cut hers in half and toss it onto my plate “here honey, will you eat this? I can’t finish it” me sitting there bewildered, trying to fit everything on my dish, and trying to tackle both meals, knowing we will end up taking it home anyway. She always gave me a good laugh!
Some of my favorite dishes were sausage and peppers, pignoli cookies at Christmas, fritto misto, pastina, and of course, meatballs and sauce. You know she always had a fridge full of something, almost always including meatballs. My all time favorite snack as a kid and through the years was a cold Yoo-Hoo and meatball right out of the fridge. Silly, I know, but grandma always had some waiting for me.
I can’t forget to mention the impression she made on me as a young woman. She instilled a confidence in me to be the best version of myself, to enjoy all life had to offer, be adventurous, and live courageously. As a world traveler and highly educated for her time, Addie inspired me to live life to the fullest. I will miss her feisty spirit!
Finally, may we remember Addie with love, joy, and in honor of her zest for live, courage to live each day as our last. May she rest in peace and be our guiding light from above.
